Default Blue screen crash in Vista home basic

Hi guys.
Am using Microsoft windows Vista Home basic and the problem is that it keeps on crashing (Blue screen crash). This has been happening since i have installed all the necessary windows updates. What can be the cause of the crash or what can i lookout for to get to the cause of the problem.
Where are the memory dump files stored at when a computer crashes?

What error code is it throwing up on the blue screen?

One scenario would be that windows update provided you with a new driver for a video card

Open folder options in the control panel and set the advanced options to "see hidden and system files"

The memory.dmp file (kernel dump) is usually housed in the \Windows\system32\ folder
The mini dumps are usually \Windows\system32\Minidump\

============================

The way you check and get us the error code is this:

Click Start -> Right click on Computer -> Select Properties -> in the right pane "Advanced System properties" -> advanced tab at the top -> Under Start up and Recovery click Settings -> uncheck Automatically restart

The next time it crashes copy down the error code.

You can also see from this screen where your memory dumps are being saved:
