Thanks you for the reminder.

Least anyone get confused about which Java v6 u17 to download, this is the URL I recommend:

I am happy to say that the Java updates are now overwriting the earlier version in the system-but- it's puts itself back on 'check autpmatically for updates' and puts the Java Quick Start service on Automatic.

If you don't want either of these runnig (I don't let them run) do this:

Control Panel> Java> Update tab> UNCHECK the auto update check> answer Yes/Never when you are asked> Click on Apply> OK.

For the Service: Start> Run> tupe in services.msc> double click on Java Quick Start> change Startup type to Disabled.

To see if either of these are tunning, open the Task Manager:
Auto update shows as jushed.exe
Service shows as jqs

You don't need either of these running.
