Let's try to eliminate some easy possibilities first...

Are you trying to stream the videos/music/game from the internet?

If so are you connecting wireless or plugging in a cable? Also, have you used other computers connected to the same router and without problems?

Have you tried adjusting the power settings from Balanced to Quality/Performance when using the video/music/game?
to do this:
1) Start -> control panel -> small icons view
2) go to Power Options
3) set it to high performance NOT power saver

Power saver will make your battery last longer but could be causing the performance issues

Let me know on the above

Welcome to Win7

Curious what you think of the win7 firewall? It has received decent reviews.

Guess we aren't the only one's that experienced this. See Microsoft's new promo campaign mocking itself http://www.tech-101....u-love-to-hate/

Also:
The browser wars are back on in earnest. For the second time in three months, Internet Explorer made large gains, picking up almost 1 point of market share. Chrome, Firefox, and Safari all lost out, as Internet Explorer 9 won over new users.

I was having tons of problems with IE8 and many of the websites we rely on for work were having a hard time with IE8. It wasn't loading forms properly amongst other things. Unfortunately, they also do not support Firefox nor Chrome.

I upgraded to windows 7 / IE9 and it seems to have fixed most of the issues we had.
