Exclamation The Acid test for browsers

Are you interested just how correctly your favorite browser renders web content?
Did you know that the official web standards for HTML, CSS, Javascript are defined by the W3C?

Even though we've been surfing for years now, it hard to believe (but sadly oh so true), that
most of our browsers DON'T OBEY THE RULES! :ouch:

The Acid Test Org has three tests that will drop your jaw when you try your browser on
  1. Acid-1
  2. Acid-2
  3. Acid-3

Well, I don't know that my jaw dropped! But if those were pass/fail tests, I think I flunked them all! #3 was way off. I used Firefox v3.0.14.

In my case, the order of Best to Worst
  1. Opera 9.64.*
  2. FF 2.0.0.20
  3. IE6 6.00.2900.2180
where best is the simple fidelity to the intended result on ALL three tests.

That is an old version of Firefox- not even v3. Wonder if the later versions improved.

Seems to me that FF 3.5.2 does pretty well.
I see no problems with either 1 or 2, and 3 gets a 93/100,
failing the blue square as gray, and not being completely smooth in animation.
With the additional note that "linktest failed", but that might be due to my security settings, mightn't it?

Just tried the Acid 3 test on Chromium 6.0.447.0 (50588)
& it scored a perfect 100/100 , only problem was most of the boxes didn't render properly it looked like a larger white box was overlaying part of the image.
